Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined, then fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, use good quality chocolate chips. You can also add nuts or other mix-ins if desired. Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
