  • 8 oz Noodles e.g., ramen, lo mein, spaghetti
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Ginger grated
  • 1/4 cup Hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp Rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp Brown sugar optional
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 2 Green onions sliced for garnish
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook noodles according to package directions, then drain and set aside.
  2. Whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and brown sugar (if using) in a small bowl until smooth.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat, then add minced garlic and grated ginger and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  4. Add the cooked and drained noodles to the skillet with the aromatics, pour the sauce over, and toss to coat everything evenly.
  5. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until heated through, then garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving hot.

Notes

For an added boost of vegetables, feel free to add steamed broccoli florets or sliced carrots along with the noodles. Adjust the spice level by adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
