Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, drain excess fat, and stir in the marinara sauce.
- In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, fresh parsley, salt, and black pepper.
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of the prepared baking dish, then arrange a single layer of cooked noodles over the sauce.
- Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, top with half of the meat sauce, and sprinkle with half of the mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layers, ending with a final layer of noodles topped with remaining meat sauce and mozzarella cheese.
Baking
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and lightly browned.
- Let the lasagna rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving to allow it to set.
Notes
For best results, use good quality marinara sauce and fresh ricotta. You can also add a layer of sautéed spinach for extra nutrition and flavor.
