Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and bring a large pot of salted water to a boil for the pasta.
- Cook the rigatoni according to package directions until al dente, then drain it well and return it to the pot.
- Add the marinara sauce and ricotta cheese to the cooked pasta, stirring until everything is thoroughly combined.
Baking
- Transfer half of the pasta mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish, then sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over it.
- Spoon the remaining pasta mixture into the dish, and then top it with the remaining mozzarella and the grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the sauce is heated through.
Serving
- Allow the baked rigatoni to cool for a few minutes before serving, then garnish with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
For an extra touch, sprinkle with fresh basil before serving. You can also add some cooked ground beef or Italian sausage for a heartier meal.
