Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
Making the Dough
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Baking
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For chewier cookies, slightly underbake them. You can also experiment with different types of chocolate chips, like milk chocolate or dark chocolate, for varied flavor. Store cooled cookies in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days to maintain freshness.
