  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 0.25 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Equipment

  • large pot
  • large skillet

Method

Preparation
  1. Cook the linguine according to package directions, then drain it and set aside.
  2. Season the peeled and deveined shrimp with 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
Cooking the Shrimp and Sauce
  1. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through; remove the shrimp and set aside.
  2. Add the remaining butter to the same skillet and sauté the minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
  4. Stir in the remaining Cajun seasoning and grated Parmesan cheese, reducing the heat to low and simmering until the sauce thickens slightly.
Combining and Serving
  1. Add the cooked linguine and shrimp back into the skillet with the sauce, tossing to coat everything evenly.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately, optionally with extra Parmesan cheese.

Notes

For extra spice, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the Cajun seasoning. You can also add some sliced bell peppers and onions to the sauce for more vegetables.
