Preparation
- Dice the tomatoes and onion into small, uniform pieces. Mince the jalapeño after removing the seeds if you prefer less heat.
- Finely chop the fresh cilantro leaves.
- In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, onion, minced jalapeño, and chopped cilantro.
- Squeeze the juice from the lime over the mixture. Stir everything gently to combine all the ingredients.
- Serve immediately with your favorite dishes, or cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
For best flavor, use fresh, ripe tomatoes. Adjust the amount of jalapeño to your spice preference. A pinch of salt can also be added to taste.
