Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, then add the chopped celery and onion and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the bread cubes, broth, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper until everything is well combined.
- Transfer the stuffing mixture into the prepared baking dish and cover it with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 20 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can toast the bread cubes lightly before adding them to the mixture. If you prefer a moister stuffing, add an extra 1/4 cup of broth.
