  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4-6 slices cooked and crumbled bacon optional
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon
  • Gloves (optional)
  • Toothpicks (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Carefully slice each jalapeño lengthwise, then remove the seeds and membranes, remembering to wear gloves to prevent skin irritation.
  3. In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, crumbled bacon (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, mixing until uniform.
  4. Spoon the creamy cheese mixture generously into each jalapeño half.
  5. Optionally, wrap each filled jalapeño with a half strip of uncooked bacon, securing it with a toothpick if needed.
  6. Arrange the prepared jalapeños on your lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the jalapeños are tender and the filling is bubbly and lightly browned.

Notes

For an extra kick, you can leave some of the seeds in the jalapeños. Always wear gloves when handling jalapeños to prevent skin irritation from the capsaicin.
