Puppy Chow Ingredients
  • 9 cups Chex cereal
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup Peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups Powdered sugar

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Measure out 9 cups of Chex cereal and place it into a very large bowl.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 1 cup of chocolate chips, 1/2 cup of peanut butter, and 1/4 cup of butter; microwave for 30 seconds, then stir, and repeat until smooth.
  3. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract into the melted chocolate mixture.
  4. Pour the chocolate mixture over the Chex cereal and stir gently until the cereal is evenly coated.
  5. Place 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar into a large Ziploc bag, add the coated cereal, seal the bag, and shake until the cereal is fully coated with sugar.

Notes

For best results, allow the Puppy Chow to cool completely before serving. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. You can experiment with different types of Chex cereal or add other mix-ins like M&Ms or pretzels for variety.
