  • 1.5 lbs Large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1.5 lbs Small red potatoes, halved
  • 4 Ears of corn, shucked and halved
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 Lemon, cut into wedges
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped
Boiling Liquid
  • 8 cups Water
  • 1 tbsp Salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, bring 8 cups of water and 1 tablespoon of salt to a rolling boil. Add halved red potatoes and cook for 8-10 minutes until they are tender when pierced with a fork.
Cooking
  1. To the pot, add the halved ears of corn and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic. Add the peeled and deveined shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  2. Drain the contents of the pot using a colander. Transfer the shrimp, potatoes, corn, and garlic to a large serving platter or a sheet pan.
Serving
  1. Pour the melted butter over the shrimp boil. Squeeze fresh lemon wedges over the top and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately and enjoy your quick and delicious shrimp boil.

Notes

For an extra kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the boiling water or melted butter. Be careful not to overcook the shrimp, as they can become rubbery. If fresh corn is not available, frozen corn can be used.
