Trifle Base
  • 1 package Sponge cake or pound cake
Berries
  • 4 cups Mixed berries strawberries, blueberries, raspberries
Custard
  • 2 cups Heavy cream
  • 8 oz Mascarpone cheese
  • 1/2 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Garnish
  • Fresh mint leaves optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the sponge cake into 1-inch cubes and gently wash and dry your mixed berries.
  2. In a large bowl, whip together the heavy cream, mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
Assembly
  1. In a large trifle bowl or individual glasses, create the first layer with half of the cake cubes, followed by half of the mixed berries.
  2. Spread half of the whipped cream mixture evenly over the berries.
Layering
  1. Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, berries, and whipped cream.
Finishing Touches
  1. Garnish the trifle with fresh mint leaves if desired, then chill for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
