Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, mash the ripe bananas.
Mixing and Baking
- Add sugar, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas and mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Tip 1: Use very ripe bananas with plenty of brown spots for the best flavor. Tip 2: Do not overmix the batter; mixing until just combined will keep the banana bread tender. Tip 3: For an extra moist loaf, cover it loosely with foil during the last 15-20 minutes of baking if the top is browning too quickly.
