Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 head cabbage
  • 4 strips bacon sliced
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Cutting board
  • Knife

Method

Instructions
  1. Chop the head of cabbage into bite-sized pieces and set aside. Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy, then remove and crumble, leaving the drippings in the pan.
  2. Add the chopped onion to the skillet with the bacon drippings and sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet, stirring to combine with the onions and garlic. Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender-crisp.
  4. Stir in the apple cider vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  5. Remove from heat, then gently stir in the crumbled bacon. Serve immediately and enjoy your perfectly fried cabbage.

Notes

For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic. You can also substitute regular vinegar for apple cider vinegar if needed.
