Preparation
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and cornstarch. Set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Cooking
- Add the beef strips to the hot skillet and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet, then add the broccoli florets. Stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until bright green and slightly tender-crisp.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the broccoli. Pour the reserved sauce over the beef and broccoli.
- Stir continuously for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli.
Serving
- Serve immediately with steamed rice or noodles, if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can marinate the beef in a tablespoon of the soy sauce mixture for 15 minutes before cooking. Adjust the amount of brown sugar to your sweetness preference.
