Ingredients
  

Churro Dough
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 4 cups Vegetable oil for frying

  • Piping bag with star tip

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Combine water, butter, sugar, and salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Remove from heat, add flour, and stir vigorously until a ball of dough forms.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time until thoroughly incorporated and dough is smooth.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
Piping and Frying
  1. Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  2. Pipe 4-inch strips of dough directly into the hot oil, cutting with scissors.
  3. Fry churros for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
Finishing
  1. Remove churros with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  2. Roll warm churros in cinnamon sugar mixture, if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the dough with the eggs. Ensure the oil temperature is maintained for crispy churros. Serve with chocolate dipping sauce or dulce de leche for an indulgent treat.
