Method
 

Instructions
  1. Slice the onion into 1/4 inch thick rings and separate them.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and milk.
  4. Dip each onion ring into the egg mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture, ensuring it's fully coated.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Carefully place a few coated onion rings into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the fryer.
  7. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, then remove and place on a wire rack lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Notes

For extra crispiness, you can double-dip the onion rings in the egg and flour mixture. Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce!
