Ingredients

Fish
  • 1.5 lb firm white fish fillets
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 0.5 tsp cumin
  • 0.5 tsp salt
Taco Components
  • 8 corn or flour tortillas
  • 2 cup shredded cabbage
  • lime wedges
Optional Toppings
  • diced avocado
  • salsa
  • sour cream or Greek yogurt

Equipment

  • Grill
  • Small bowl
  • Paper towels

Method

Prepare the Fish
  1. Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, combine olive oil, chili powder, cumin, and salt, then rub the mixture evenly over both sides of the fish.
Grill the Fish
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking, then grill the fish for 3-4 minutes per side, or until it flakes easily with a fork.
Assemble the Tacos
  1. Warm the tortillas on the grill or in a dry pan for about 20-30 seconds per side. Flake the grilled fish into bite-sized pieces and divide it among the warm tortillas, then top with shredded cabbage and a squeeze of fresh lime juice.
Serve
  1. Serve immediately with any desired optional toppings such as diced avocado, salsa, or sour cream.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the fish for 15-30 minutes before grilling. You can also use a grill pan if you don't have an outdoor grill.
