  • 0.25 cup mirin
  • 0.25 cup sake
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger grated
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 4 cups cooked rice
  • 2 stalks green onions chopped for garnish
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds for garnish

Equipment

  • large skillet or wok

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. Prepare the teriyaki sauce by whisking together soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a bowl.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced beef and cook until browned.
  3. Pour the prepared teriyaki sauce over the beef. In a small bowl, dissolve cornstarch in water and add it to the skillet to thicken the sauce. Cook until the sauce coats the beef.

For extra flavor, marinate the beef in a small amount of the teriyaki sauce for 15-30 minutes before cooking.
